This is an old Shores of Hell style level for Doom 1. The main features are the 6 outdoor areas (hence the "HEX" I presume). Each if these is like a square (inverted) pyramid, with dead trees and bits of ammo scattered around. Early on these are a good fight, lots of imps and former humans and limited ammo & weapons. However, by the time you've fought 4 or 5 of these things the novelty has worn off and you have plenty of ammo to beat them.
There are some other fights, mainly some groups of imps to shotgun, but by that point plenty of ammo. There are no real traps at the level; there are a few secrets but mostly they are required to complete the level. Also the secrets are pretty obvious. Ammo and health are excessive for today's typical Doomer.
Aside from the stylish pyramid constructions, the level badly laks detail in some places. There is also HOM in one place, and some tutti-fruiti. Overall, a level with some stylish features, but not enough overall quality to be a good level, by today's standards.
