screenshot "The Inner Gateway" is a medium size Doom 2 level, in the Ultimate Doom style; marble, wood and rusty metal. There are some really good looking areas, both outdoors and indoors, and plenty of detail in most areas like steps, torches, pillars etc. There is good lighting, a good acid area toward the end, just a couple of place that weren't up to the high standard of the rest.

The level starts slowly, with a mix of imps and demons on the way to the first keycard. Then you go through the yellow key door, and suddenly there are monsters everywhere. You can get the monsters fighting each other, but it's quite cramped for space so it takes some skill to judge it right. Mostly it's shotgun and super-shotgun work, with a good amount of ammo and health.

There are some traps, but these aren't especially dangerous, it's the cramped space that makes this level tricky. There and a few secrets to look out for too. The middle section of the level has a lot of monsters, so the end was maybe a bit of an anticlimax; also there was a bridge which raised to the building in the acid which contanis the exit, but you can jump the gap.. not sure if that was intended or not. Overall, this is a short but good level, a good one to play.
