KBOOM_9 is a more mixed style than many of the other levels in the KBOOM series. You start outside in a brown sone and wood style area, rather like Inmost Dens (Doom 2 MAP14); you have to hit a switch to open up the hidden base inside the building.
And what a fight it is. The level has tough fights throughout; in particular there are lots of tricky fights against weaker enemies scattered throughout the level, which make the fights very varied and interesting. The architecture makes the fights much more interesting too; the fight entering the base is particularly good. This is a level that is very hard to stop playing, I was always looking forward to the next fight :-). Some advice though: remember to use your rockets, that's what you're given them for!
The base is excellently detailed, with ladders, lifts, over and under bridges, all the usual great stuff that characterises the KBOOM series. There are some clever tricks with invisible doors & platforms, creating some keycard barriers (force fields, glass doors? Anyway they look cool :-).
Just play it. You won't be disappointed.
