"The Crash" - an alien spaceship has crash landed and you are sent in to clean it out. It's a great level idea; the texturing is the usual high-tech Doom textures, but instead of the usual rather rectangular, regular style of high-tech levels, everything is distorted. There are lots of fires, flickering lights, collapsed ceilings etc, giving this level a very distinctive feel.
Boom is required, since various effects like conveyor belts and deep water are used here and there. There are special effects used too, such as partly-transparent doors, which look very clever, though they do rather give away what's behind the door ;-).
Mostly the basic enemies, sergeants and chaingunners, are used; the darkness and flickering lights mean they can be tricky in places, but generally I found there was plenty of health and ammo. There are a few traps and secrets, not many though. The level progression is interesting, quite non-linear; the chaos on the ship means it's not always obvious which way to go, but it doesn't take long to find your way.
The level ends with a rather needless spiderdemon fight, since you have enough rockets and cells to just stand and shoot. Overall, a great level idea, great architecture; the gameplay is OK but not outstanding.
