OK, so I was scanning the file listings for cdrom.com for something, and this caught my eye. I thought, well if Doom Underground doesn't review a wad called UNDERGND, who will? I don't need a good excuse for a game of Doom ;-). Mind you, when I looked at the text file, I nearly changed my mind. Quite what it was about the author's name that made me think this was a bad idea, I'm not sure...
Anyway, the level itself is small and for Doom 2. You start in a yard with a load of zombies to kill and a chainsaw, probably the most interesting fight of the level. After that there's a few rooms to clear and a couple of switches. No health and little more ammo given, but for a < 5 minute level you don't need them.
There is nice texture choice, and an arch at the end. It's too small to be very interesting though, and there isn't much detail. No bugs anyway. A couple of annoying shoot-through walls were the only sign of the "several hard-to-implement and VERY important WAD features" touted by the text file.
A not-much-here, not-worth-seeing level.
